Mini Bull Terrier

The average size for a Mini Bull Terrier is usually 12-13 inches high at the withers, but the standard accepts dogs ranging from 10 to 14 inches. Miniature Bull Terriers are actually small-sized replicas of the standard Bull Terrier. They have the same body characteristics and proportions. All Bull Terriers have good muscle and high endurance levels.

Mini Bull Terriers are active and energetic. They cannot do without daily activity, and it takes a great deal of time and energy on the owner’s side to properly handle such a dog. Like all Bull Terriers, Miniature Bull Terriers require firm yet positive training. They are naturally protective around their loved ones, but they must be trained not to be jealous. Possessive dogs may not be able to distinguish between friends and foes, and they are usually equally wary of all people except for their owners.

Like all Bull Terriers, Miniature Bull Terriers appreciate interaction. They are good with children, but are not recommended for young children, because they are absolutely intolerant of teasing. Therefore, children must be trained to regard Bull terriers with respect and caution. Mini Bull Terriers like to participate in various household activities, and they are very sensitive to their loved ones’ mood.

Bull Terriers can be reserved with strangers, and they are notoriously dog-aggressive. If you would like to have two Mini Bull Terriers, please, do not even consider the possibility of keeping two unaltered males. They are not likely to get along, as they will inevitably fight for dominance. A male and a female can live happily. Two females will tolerate each other too. Neither Miniature nor Standard Bull Terriers are intended for any bloody sport. They are popular as a companion breed, and they have a sweet and somewhat clownish disposition.

Bull Terriers are believed to have sprung from the Old English Terrier and the English Bulldog. As the breed originated in the second half of the twentieth century, it was not the ferocious type of Bulldog that had been used in bull-baiting and dog-fighting contests until 1835, but the smaller and less aggressive version of the breed. The Mini Bull Terrier was developed by way of careful selective breeding, and today the Miniature Bull terrier Club of America (MBTCA).

Like all Bull Terriers, Miniature Bull Terriers can be affected by some genetic diseases, so it is absolutely necessary to choose a breeder very carefully. Some lines are susceptible to deafness. These dogs often suffer serious orthopedic problems, such as patella luxation and hip dysplasia. Lameness may develop in the process of growth, if joints and ligaments are exposed to much strain. If you would like to have a Mini Bull Terrier Puppy, please, make sure you will be able to spend enough time with him and that you know how to deal with possible behavioral problems.
