Bull Terrier History
Bull terrier history is very interesting; your average breeder and breeders in general are not likely to know anything about it, however.
Initially, these dogs were supposed to be white in color, the trend, which was actively promoted by James Hinks. Ted Lyon worked toward the acceptance of the brindle color. Nowadays, colored species are as common as white dogs, although whites are more preferable.

This dog was generated in the 19th century as a sport and conformation dog. The gene pool contains the genes of the Bulldog, now extinct Old English species, the Dalmatian, and maybe the Spanish Pointer, the Greyhound and the Foxhound.
